July 11, 1826-Dated, Hand-Wrought Sampler, by “Julia Ann Palmer, aged 12 years, Columbus, July 11th, 1826.” Framed, Very Fine.


Wonderful early lovely sampler, dated “July 11th, 1826” by “Julia Ann Palmer, aged 12 years, Columbus.” Rich aged patina on the fabric, in wonderful period wooden frame measuring 16” x 14.25”. Very desireable 1826 date. One very small slight wear spot, charming verse reads:

“Ye fair that on this cast an eye -- By me a patern take -- And spend your time industriously -- And such a sampler make.” Four complete alphabets appear at the top, the last with full upper and lowercase lettering. A striking sampler, framed and ready for display.
