(lot) Group of ladies 14kt yellow gold lapis lazuli estate jewelry, comprising: (1) link bracelet, having (ten) cabochon lapis lazuli stones, approx. 8mm x 6mm; set in pairs within (five) link bracelet, marked on clasp, 6.5"l; (1 pair) carved knot lapis lazuli clip on earrings, presented in 14kt gold frame, marked on back, 1"l; (1) strand of lapis lazuli stone bead necklace, gold plated clasp, 15"l; bracelet and earrings: 40.6 grams, necklace: 74.2 grams (weights inclusive of all material) *Provenance: From the estate of Jo Anne Christian (Texas, 1936-2015), a lifelong collector of friends, paintings, jewelry, books and other beautiful things, was known for her love of color and her support for the arts. As one of the Three J's--the three women who founded Austin's Long Center for the Performing Arts--Mrs. Christian made an indelible mark on Texas' Capital City. Jo Anne Christian was the widow of George E. Christian Jr. (Texas, 1927-2002), press secretary to President Lyndon Baines Johnson. She was an attorney, an avid historian, a voracious reader and an inveterate theatergoer.
