Description
ENGLISH STAFFORDSHIRE POTTERY TRANSFERWARE ARTICLES, LOT OF TWO, comprising a scallop-molded canted-cornered rectangular teapot with a large prow, the high-domed cover with foliate knop, transfer-printed in black with a Spanish-style scene, incised heart to underside; and an Enoch Wood & Sons two-handled, squat, rounded-rectangular sugar box, the domed cover with rectangular mark, transfer-printed in green-black with the "Sheepshearer" pattern under a foliate and floral border, with blue line to edge of base. Circa 1820-1845. 5 3/4" and 7 1/4" H.
Condition
The teapot with light hairline to interior near spout, chips to flanges, hairline crack under knop to cover, tiny chips to spout; the sugar with chips to knop and edge of cover, some rubbing to handles.
