Description
ENGLISH IRONSTONE FLOW BLUE TABLE ARTICLES, LOT OF THREE, transfer printed, comprising a canted-cornered rectangular sauce tureen on foot with scroll handles and high-domed cover with foliate knop, and a ladle, both transfer-printed in the "Formosa" pattern, and an underplate of conforming shape, transfer-printed in the "Chapoo" pattern. Scant impressed letters and numerals marks to underside of tureen body. Circa 1840-1850. Tureen 6 7/8" HOA, 7 1/4" W, the ladle 7 1/8" L.
Provenance: From a New England private collection.
Condition
Good condition, with visible crazing, the underplate with a small chip to under-rim, ladle with a very short crack where the handle meets the bowl.
