AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) FOLK ART FARM SCENE PAINTING, oil on canvas, a vibrant, active scene of large format, depicting horses, pigs, cattle, goats, and human figures in a yard before a house and barn, river and castle ruins in distance, no signature located. Housed in a 19th-century molded wood frame with gilt and ebonized elements. Third quarter 19th century. 26 1/2" x 30 1/2" sight, 31 3/4" x 35 1/2" OA.
Provenance: Property from the private collection of Charles and Paulette Garber, Chatham, NJ.
Condition
Painting in good visual condition on likely original stretchers, cleaned and revarnished during previous conservation with possible retouching to sky. Frame with wear.
