ANTHONY BAECHER ATTRIBUTED, WINCHESTER, SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA DECORATED EARTHENWARE / REDWARE DIMINUTIVE TUB, lead-, copper-, and slip-glazed, low slightly tapered tub form with two upright handle tabs. Fitted with a later metal bail handle. Attributed to Anthony Weis Bacher/Baecher (1824-1889), Winchester, VA. Circa 1880-1889. 2" HOA, 1 1/2" H rim, 4 1/4" D.
Literature: See Comstock - Pottery of the Shenandoah Valley Region, p. 170, fig. 4.255 for an identical example marked for Baecher. Comstock refers to it as a "honey basket."
