Description
Following on from the very successful 911 SC, Porsche introduced the Carrera in 1984 and produced it until 1989 when the 964 version was then introduced. The Carrera was one of the purest versions of the outstanding 911 models ever offered and although offered as a Targa, Cabriolet and Coupe derivative - it was the Coupe that has since captured the imagination of collectors and enthusiasts worldwide. The 3.2 litre, 231 bhp engine gave lively performance with a 0-60 mph of 5.4 seconds and a genuine 150mph top speed. Brakes, suspension and steering were all significantly improved over the previous models and sales began to steadily climb once more.
This left hand drive version was delivered new to Japan in March 1984 finished in Guards Red with Black 'dust' upholstery (a luxury cloth) including Porsche logos to the seats. Used sparingly as part of a collection, it has covered just 28,000 kms ( 17,300 miles) from new with a complete service history.
The car is highly original throughout, including all paintwork, and even has the original 16 inch Fuchs wheels with 205/50 R16 Bridgestone tyres on the front and 225/50 R16 Bridgestone rear tyres. The car comes to the Sale with a complete serice history and all handbooks, original toolkit and 2 keys.
