Description
Stunning Vintage 999 Pure Silver Art Nouveau Woman Repousse Pendant created by Polish American repousse artist, Henryk Winograd, with proper hallmarks. On a heavy sterling silver Italian chain. Pendant measures 2"x1 1/2". Total weight is 42 grams. Henryk Winograd (circa 1917 - 2008) was a skilled master of many ancient and lost silversmithing techniques. These were passed down to him through a long family lineage of silversmiths. He worked primarily and was well known for his incredible work in repoussé. He also worked in niello, filigree, surface texturing and other techniques. He is the only silversmith in American history to have had a one-man show of his work in the Rotunda of Congress, Washington, D.C. Provenance: Charleston SC Private Collection
