Description
A late Victorian gold coral and split pearl sentimental pendant, the oval rock crystal cabochon and enamel 'AC' initial monogram, within a coral and split pearl surround, to the vacant panel reverse with personal inscription. Length 5.2cms. Weight 20.3gms.
Condition
Overall condition good. Some surface wear and light scratches in keeping with age. Some discolouration to the initial monogram panel. Personal inscription to the reverse reads 'Annie Cadell, 26th July 1882, Nee Whillon, from J. D. B'. Coral and split pearls fairly well matched, differ very slightly in hue. Coral orangish-pink, pale colour saturation. Split pearls creamy colour, with rose and greenish overtones. Fairly good skins with some surface blemishes. Coral and split pearls in fair to good condition, some with small chips to the edges. Some possible replacement stones.
