Ten Piece Silver Plated Copper Supper Set, early 20th

Lot 0232 Details

Description
Ten Piece Silver Plated Copper Supper Set, early 20th c., in a lazy Susan design with a rotating warming top fitted with a circular lidded central tureen, three inset lidded rectangular covered dishes, three pepper shakers, and three urn-shaped salt dips with cobalt glass liners, the lazy Susan with celluloid or bakelite handles, H.- 16 in., W.- 24 1/2 in., D.- 21 1/4 in.
Condition
Condition consistent with age. There is a slight black tarnish detected to some surface areas and a white colored patina noted within some of the crevices, both of which are observed mildly throughout all the pieces, the most notable tarnish area is observed to the interior of one covered dish lid. One pepper shaker is observed with wear to the silver, resulting in some visible copper, noted mainly to the outermost edges and near the base. The covered dishes are observed with slight dents to the twist-form edges of the lids, two lids have two mild scratches and a slight dent to the outer body. The tureen has some mild superficial scratches noted to the exterior but mainly observed to the interior of the bowl, which likely resulted from polishing or actual use, and the interior of the bowl also has a small cluster of tiny bubbling that may have been the result of a manufacturing flaw, and a few black colored pin-head size tarnish spots. The lazy Susan skirt and top are observed with a handful of mild surface scratches, and the outermost edge is noted with consistent various minor dents. One finial is now lacking from a handle. A stunning presentation. ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD “AS IS.” NO STATEMENT REGARDING CONDITION OF ANY ITEM, WHETHER IT IS MADE ORALLY AT THE AUCTION OR ANY OTHER TIME, OR IN WRITING IN THE CATALOGUE OR ELSEWHERE, SHALL BE DEEMED TO BE A WARRANTY, REPRESENTATION, OR ASSUMPTION OF LIABILITY.
