Description
VICTORIAN MAJOLICA ASSORTED ARTICLES, LOT OF TEN INCLUDING A METAL-MOUNTED TILE TRIVET AND A FOOTED COMPOTE, the trivet tile probably Continental, molded in low relief with bird among berries and branches, with a large beetle in the corner; in turquoise, red and yellow glazes, impressed 109 to underside; an English round compote on flaring foot, molded with ribbon and cherry blossoms in low relief, glazed in turquoise, green and pink, R 220 to foot in iron-red enamel; and two leaf-molded plates, one probably WEDGWOOD, molded with grape leaves and clusters and strawberries, with shaped rims, glazed in brown, green, pink and yellow and purple; impressed marks to underside. Sold together with six round butterpats with pimpled surfaces, molded with fans and flowering cherry blossoms, painted in turquoise with green and red details under brown line rims. Late 19th Century. 5 1/2" H., the tallest.

Condition
Moderate condition, the centerpiece with crack to body and foot; most items with crazing and typical enamel flaking. The butterpats in very good condition.
