Description
A late Victorian 18ct gold paste and diamond dress ring, circa 1890. The five graduated circular-shape blue paste, with diamond point double spacers, to the scrolling gallery and plain band. Two diamond points deficient. Partial hallmarks for 18ct gold. Weight 5gms.
Condition
Overall condition fair. There are scratches to the ring in keeping with overall wear. There is significant abrasion to the facet edges of the blue paste and significant scratches to the facet faces, there are some gas bubbles visible with magnification. There two diamond points deficient, the remaining diamond points are chipped and abraded. The settings appear significantly worn and may need to be secured. The band has been re sized and the assay stamp removed, there is a further solder join to one of the shoulders. There is a file mark and acid stain to the inside of the band. Ring size O.
