WAYNE JOHN: (1907-1979) American Actor, Academy Award winner. T.L.S., Duke, one page, 8vo, Beverly Hills, California, 28th December 1974, to General and Mrs. Charles Blair ('Dear Charlie and Maureen'). Wayne states that he received the photograph of Excalibur taking off and continues to comment 'Am glad you were in it and it wasn't hanging over your head. And I most certainly hope that it does not become that kind of burden. I could sure have a lot of fun with it if I were as rich as you all.' Accompanied by the original envelope. A letter of good association. Some very minor, light creasing, otherwise VG Maureen O'Hara (1920- ) Irish Actress & Singer, famous for her collaborations with John Ford and John Wayne, including The Quiet Man (1952). O'Hara's third husband was Charles Blair (1909-1978) American Test Pilot and Airline owner, a pioneer of transatlantic aviation. Blair was killed in an airplane crash while piloting a Grumman Goose.
