The Zulu War Medal to Corporal James Lawler, 1st Battalion, 24th Foot, who was killed in action at Isandhlwana, 21 January 1879South Africa 1877-79, 1 clasp, 1877-8-9 (415. Corpl. J. Lawler. 1/24th Foot.) small bruise to reverse edge and two minor bruises to obverse edge, otherwise toned, nearly extremely fine £6,000-£8,000---James Lawler enlisted for the 25th Brigade at Liverpool, Lancashire, on 24 July 1874, aged 20 years. He served in South Africa with the 1st Battalion, 24th Foot, and was killed in action at Isandhlwana on 21 January 1879.
