American oil on board maritime seascape painting depicting two sailing ships on choppy waters approaching a lighthouse. Signed and dated "M. M. H...1892" lower right. F. W. Devoe & Company, New York academy board label en verso together with additional partially legible graphite inscriptions. Housed in a gilt carved and pierced foliate frame. Sight: 18" H x 24 1/8" W. Framed: 21" H x 29 1/8" W.

Private Cincinnati, Ohio estate.
Condition
Painting in overall good condition with light grime and a few areas of light craquelure. Frame with minor scattered losses and wear.
