A fire steel composed of a bronze handle modelled in the round as a leopard or other feline sitting on a tiered plinth, curled tail forming a suspension loop, stylised detailing to the face, ears and coat, punched ring-and-dot motifs to both faces of the lower base; iron blade. 34.7 grams, 42 mm (1 5/8 in.) German art market before 2000. With a European gentleman living in the UK. Property of a Surrey gentleman.
