  • Artist/Title: Mikhail Molochniy - Buchenwald. All that is left of childhood
  • Date: 1960
  • Medium: woodcut print
  • Dimensions: 30 x 42 cm (size of the sheet)
  • Description: Born in Dniepr (Dnipropetrovsk - Russian Empire, USSR, Ukraine). He participates in WWII. Probably was in a concentration camp (but I'm not sure - can't find enough information). Most of his etchings were dedicated to the holocaust tragedy and WWII. He died between 1985-1986. He made illustrations to the book "Fire" by Henry Barbus but it wasn't approved but the soviet painters association. His painter's manner was unofficial in USSR and was banned. He made a series of portraits in Modigliani style and a few in an official soviet realistic style. He was a member of the Association of Ukrainian revolution art together with such painters as O. Bogomazov, D. Burliuk, V, Yermilov, M. Gluschenko, M. Burachek
