German World War II Army Heer Bronze Infantry Assault Badge by GWL. The front shows a Mauser K 98 rifle in the center with a German eagle clutching a swastika in his talons at the top. Both are surrounded by an oval oak leaf wreath. The reverse side is maker marked ‘GWL’ for the manufacturing firm of ‘Gebruder Wegerhoff Ludenscheid’. Has a thin vertical pin back with a ‘c’ catch. Solid die struck bronze construction. Awarded for three combat encounters with the enemy. Unauthenticated, sold as is.
