Item Details
Description
Native American, Northwestern United States, Haida, ca. mid-20th century CE. A handmade zoomorphic rattle constructed from wood in the form of an eagle, with richly painted details. The rattle is constructed from two pieces of hollowed cedar, then nailed together along the seam to contain the stone or bead rattle balls. The thick handle is pierced with a leather suspension cord.
