POWERFUL SALAMPASU WARRIOR MASK
Beautiful mask, very expressive and visibly old. The face is covered with copper plates
The aggressive aspect of the Salampasu masks with their large rounded forehead and visible teeth, readily leads us to think that they could easily inspire fear and respect.
"It has often been said that the Salampasu were head cutters, a reputation perhaps more in relation to the appearance of their masks than from the reality " (Detour des Mondes)
The Salampasu live on the border Congo Drc / Angola and are neighbors of the Tshokwe
