Elijah H. Burritt, A.M.'s "Atlas, Designed to Illustrate the Heavens" (Hartford and New York: F.J. Huntington and Co., 1835). New Edition. American, mid 19th century. Interior pages include maps of the Heavens / the Night sky, showing the constellations and movement of the planets and other celestial bodies known in 1835 (11 planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Vesta, Juno, Ceres, Pallas, Jupiter, Saturn, and Herschel or Uranus). Maps are engraving produced by W.G. Evans with the consultation of Burritt. Hand colored engravings. Condition of the book varies throughout. Some foxing / soiling of pages at the ends, while interior map plates are in better condition with less foxing / soiling. Cover has some wear and tear. Corners of pages are folded. Some tearing throughout book. There do not seem to be missing pages, and this seems to be a complete copy.
