Like the "mwana pwo" masks of the neighbouring Chokwe, "mwana phwevo" represents a female ancestor who died at an early age and whose painful loss is to be recalled through the dance of the mask. The mask type is danced exclusively by men and is associated with the "mukanda" initiation of boys.

H: 21,5 cm, H: 8,5 inch
