Lot 0011 Details

Description
Late Meiji - early Taisho (1910s-1920s) Japanese porcelain chaire (tea caddy for storing powdered green tea used in tea ceremony) in jar shape with a fake spout, comes with cover and shifuku (silk brocade storage bag). Elegant potting, beautiful celadon glaze with wonderful tiny bubbles. Old turned bone lid lined with gold lacquer paper on the inside. Beautiful piece in great condition. Height with cover 2 5/8 inches. Comes from a small New England collection of tea ceremony items.
