Description
  • Title: Knife Diorama M-1549
  • Date/Period: early 20th c/
  • Origin: American
  • Dimension: The case is 11 1/2" wide, 14 1/2" high, 2” deep Each knife is 10" long.
  • Additional Information: This wood diorama holds 6 intricately carved wood knives/daggers, each with a different design. They range from the scimitar at the top; a bee or wasp on the handle of the second; the third is a modified scimitar with leaves lapping over the blade; a rail post handle tops the fourth, an imitation of a springerle rolling pin forms the handle in the fifth and a pineapple is carved into the handle of the sixth. There is nice detail to the carvings and nice patina overall. The knives were found in Vermont.
