Description

HENRY JOHN YEEND KING (UK 1885 -1924), OIL ON CANVAS LAID DOWN, 30" X 24 7/8", COUNTRY LANDSCAPE:Signed lower right; laid down on masonite; gilt period frame. Painting was inherited. Just a few unidentifiable remnants of 2 old labels on verso of frame - one is a framer's label and the other is from an unidentified London, England dealer, inventory #0775/75.

Condition

As viewed under blacklight in the unopened frame: turns yellowish under blacklight in part because it needs a cleaning, but the UV light is not penetrating and therefore a complete blacklight analysis is not possible - however, no overpainting currently showing; the canvas has been cut out of the stretchers and laid down on masonite; original stretcher bars; period gilt frame with a few cracks and chips and some restoration.
