Description
STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL TRANSFERWARE ARTICLES, LOT OF THREE, dark blue on white, comprising two plates and a soup plate, each with "LANDING OF GEN. LA FAYETTE At Castle Garden New York 16 August 1824" below central transfer, floral border, impressed with maker's mark and crown on reverse. James and Ralph Clews, Cobridge, England. First half 19th century. 7 3/4", 10", and 9 3/4" D.

Provenance: From a Tennessee private collection.
Condition
Larger plate undamaged with glaze wear to table ring and moderate surface wear, smaller plate with a hairline off the rim and very light surface wear, soup with a crack, chip and glaze loss to rim, and surface wear.
