Description
STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL TRANSFERWARE TABLE ARTICLES, LOT OF TWO, dark blue on white, comprising a teapot and covered sugar bowl, each with "LANDING OF GEN. LA FAYETTE At Castle Garden New York 16 August 1824" on obverse and reverse, unmarked. England, probably James and Ralph Clews, Cobridge. First half 19th century. 7" and 6 1/4" HOA, 4 3/4" x 6" OA.

Provenance: From a Tennessee private collection.
Condition
Teapot with professional restoration to the spout, and a hairline to the interior base, which does not go through; sugar with a replaced finial, numerous chips to the edge of the cover, and a crack in the base.
