Description
THREE GIBLER (KIBLER) FAMILY, SHENANDOAH CO., VA BIRTH AND BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATES, watercolor and ink on a printed paper forms, each written, decorated and signed by Shenandoah Valley schoolmaster Philip H. A. Ueberfeldt, two in German and one in English. Made for Philip Gibler (Kibler), his wife Elizabeth Haun, and their son Philip of the Woodstock area, dated 1780-1818. Never framed. Printed by Herman William Villee (1789-1842), Lancaster, PA. Circa 1826-1832. 16" x 13".

Provenance: Descended directly in the Kibler family.
Catalogue Note: Philip Ueberfeldt worked in Pennsylvania and western Maryland before coming to the Shenandoah Valley around 1812. The Earnests record eight examples written and colored by him including five others from Shenandoah Co.
Young Philip Kibler married Mary Sheetz and together they had eight children.
