Description

1350 HUGE ORIGINAL handwritten medieval VELLUM manuscript

Circa 1350 Early Church Handwritten Vellum Manuscript from A Very Important Antiphonal Quire (Choir book Or Hymnal)

1 Leaf Hand printed on very thick vellum (animal skin) and created between 1330 and 1370.

Italian in origin and a page from an early Catholic Church Scriptorium Quire we have collected.

This is a (900-Year-Old) rare and beautiful leaf we are auctioning, we don't find these every day or every decade.

The size of this leaf is extraordinary and would have been created for an important Roman cathedral.

This would have been used by a large choir so it could be read from a distance.

There is one Beautiful Blue large initial.

This would have been created whilst the Bubonic Plague was raging in Europe leading to a loss of about one-third of the population.

Condition
An extraordinary piece - would look striking framed. It comprises one leaf / two pages measuring a large 14.6" x 23.2" (37cm x 59cm). There are no tears, chips, holes, or repairs.
